Ecuador has over 1,400 miles of coastline on the Pacific Ocean. While the coast of course has beautiful beach destinations, it’s also home to incredibly rich ecosystems with diverse flora and fauna. Come with Galapagos Best on a bird watching expedition through remote tropical forests or on a whale-watching adventure along the shore. If you prefer human history, join us to learn about the Valdivia Culture, one of the oldest civilizations in all of the Americas. In additional to educational tours, we also offer biking excursions, yoga classes, and surfing and paddle board lessons
In Montañita you’ll find ridable beach break throughout the year, as well as backpackers and surfers from all over the globe. One of our own favorite spots in this hippie beach town is the Balsa Surf Camp. About three hours from Guayaquil, Montañita has vibrant night life and is a great spot for surf lessons and beach days.
Two of our favorite destinations in all of Ecuador are located just outside Salinas: “La Chocolatera” and the Ecuasal Salt Ponds. “La Chocolatera” offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean from undeveloped Ecuadorian coastline, and it’s a perfect spot to go whale watching in July and August. The Ecuasal salt ponds around Salinas serve as the only nature reserve for marine migratory birds in all of Ecuador. Here you’ll find hundreds of migratory birds including pelicans, herons, egrets, Chilean flamingos and sometimes blue-footed boobies. The salt ponds are a favorite destination for birds, birders, and photographers alike.
